What is a Fistule of the Brain? -

My Mother had what is believed to have had a Stroke. She lost nearly ALL movement on her right-side. We are now being told that she has a mass of fistules in her brain. What would be the best 3 possible actions? What would the likelihood of death be? We were told that she may have had this condition for a very long time. Is this condition genetic? Or is it the result of some physical factor such as diet? Could Hypertension play a factor in this condition?
