Please don t start smoking! That can destroy your body in a way being obese won t and you won t just be putting yourself in danger but your loved ones also. Your more likely to get Cancer by way of second hand smoke than by actually smoking yourself. Don t do that to your family. A moderate workout schedule(30-40min workouts 3-4 times a week) and eating at least three real meals a day will no doubt help you lose weight.

Sounds like you re trying to take the lazy way out. If you wanna lose weight, you gotta deal with eating right and exercising - i know, it sucks. Smoking does not increase your metabolism. You feel more energized for a very short period of time because as it kills your brain cells (every time you smoke) it causes a head rush (feeling light headed) and people mistake that for short term energy. And as a former smoker I one hundred percent ASSURE you; you snack just as much, it does NOT cut cravings, and you still taste perfectly. Getting addicted to nicotine will only scr*w you over in the future when you want to quit because suddenly you realize that you always smell disgusting, your teeth and nails are yellow, and you have a disgusting cough. Trust me, I have been through it.
