No one can give you a definite answer on this forum. Given your age, it most likely isn t heart related (unless you have a history of early family heart disease). I would guess it is more likely to be acid reflux or anxiety. The only real way to know for sure, is make a visit to your doctor. Relax and good luck.
After having 8 heart attacks myself i would go to your doctor and get it checked out, even being 24 yrs old you can still be at risk of heart problems, does heart diease run in your family ? parents or grand parents either side? ask to have your blood checked also. Most likely if no history of heart diease , you could be having some anginia, being in college isnt easy these days, what is the rest of your life like ? any stressful situtations ? be sure to tell your docotor of any physicall or mental problems you might be experiencing. Do you have any pain in your jaw or shoulder ? If so get to your docotor right now !! not a good sign at all. good luck and get to your docotor. My cardio docotors have told me that even young people can have heart probelms dont want to scare you but just letting you know.
Eat less animal fat.
Could be a start of sumthing. High blood pressure is the number one cause of heart attacks!
At 24 years of age, your risk is low of having a heart attack. Have you taken any ibuprofen when the pain occurs? It might help. Most pain anywhere in the chest in young adults is muscle related but can be a reflux problem (GERD) too. The issues here that you DO need to worry about are your blood pressure (should be below 120/80, being overweight and being male). The blood pressure and weight are issues which you can work on yourself and lessen your risk factors for an early heart attack. A more healthy diet and daily exercise are the best way of reducing these factors. I would not be worrying so much about a heart attack at your age. Only if you have constant, unrelenting chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, nausea should take you to your doctor.
I do not think this pain is heart related, however you should see your doctor. Most doctors can do an EKG in their office. If these area s dont hurt, then they are discomfort and not pain. You need a series of B/P checks to determine if you have high B/P. Lots of drug stores, walmart and other stores have a B/P machine. You should check your B/P regularly and write it down. If the bottom number consistently remains at 90, take the list with you when you see your doctor. You could have pain for alot of reasons other than heart problems, but to be sure, see your doctor asap.
