Sometimes, it can help. More than likely, it will take anti-anxiety drugs to lower it, or a combination of both. High blood pressure brought about by stress is normally very difficult to get under control. I would see a cardiologist and see what he or she recommends. Good Luck!!!
No, that won t work because BP medication treats something else. The anxiety is what s causing the high BP. That s what needs to be treated. The only chemicals that could possibly work are tranquilizers or some kind of anti depressant. Or therapy. Probably your best bet.
My husband is going through this right now, and his BP medication is making the anxiety worse. Now he is even paranoid. The quack wants to put him on anxiety medication and I think that stupid to add a drug to combat the side effects of another drug. Better living through making pharmaceutical companies rich.
Almost any thing you do can raise BP .Running ,standing up ,stress ,etc. can temporarily raise BP ,so what is important is your resting BP . Sometmes a Dr. will take your pressure several times during a visit ,or even prescribe a monitor to gauge BP over a 24 Hr. period . What is critical is that your stress -related HBP is not masking an underlying baseline HBP which is commonly the case . Bp should be taken at rest several times a day and the BP plotted to see if it s average value is too high . If so then weight control ,exercise and lastly ,medication are options .
