increased heart rate is called tachycardia. Is your HR of 130 at rest or after exercising or just any minimal activity? Anthracycline induce cardiomyopathy(heart dysfunction) sometimes needs to be treated with meds. ACE inhibitors help control your BP but if your BP is normal like you say but your HR is chronically elevated at rest, you may ask your MD about a low dose beta-blocker which is to help with your HR or digoxin. A person with cardiomyopathy does need some exercise like anyone but also needs to be very careful since exercise may not be tolerated well with cardiomyopathy especially if you are also being treated for CHF. I would honestly consider a second opinion. I don t think that getting aerobic exercise is the solution. just my opinion. If you are in a small town, I suggest being seen at a cardiac hospital where the doctors perform open heart surgery since these doctors deal with cardiomyopathy daily. Every hospital is NOT the same, and neither is every doctor s opinion. I m a cardiac intensive care nurse. You want to be seen by a doctor at a teaching hospital who is up on the lastest advancements in cardiology.
Good advice quot;itsjustmequot;!!!!!!!! Go to a board certified cardiologist at a major heart center. Resting tachycardia, normal blood pressure and med-induced cardiomyopathy are not good combinations to start an quot;exercisequot; program unless fully supervised by a physician. Normally, gradual aerobic conditioning will strengthen your heart muscle and generally lower the resting heart rate. While exercise might be benefical for you, you need to be monitored as to your heart s tolerance(you have a condition that can deteriorate when too much demand is placed on your heart). Tachycardia is the heart s intrinsic response to weakened heart muscle. Strain it more and you may develop quot;lethalquot; arrythmias and/or worsening cardiomyopathy.
my blood pressure is normal but my pulse rate is normally over a 100. people tell me this is bad but i dont know why.
Resting heart rates that are consistently high (tachycardia) Tachycardia, a heart rate that is faster than normal
you mean that there is increase in pulse rate, the medical term is tachycardia
tachycardia
this high pulse because of high heart beat amp; that s called tachycardia
Tachycardia
The medical name for a high pulse is tachycardia.
Tachycardia in of itself on the short haul is usually not a problem in a healthy individual. The bigger question is why is your heart rate do fast. Is it an indication of another medical problem? Also intuitively (I don t know this as fact), I alway thought a persistently high heart rate will eventually wear out your heart faster.
tachycardia
Pulse rate above 100 is called Tachycardia.
keep up with the aerobic exercises to keep your heart healthy along with a good heart healthy diet........You don t want your heart beating so fast... A good beat is around 70 beats per minute
a high pulse is called tacycardia
