Hypertension at 21years old? -

I m 5ft weigh 6 stone 9lb. I execise 4 times a week eat a low sodium and low fat diet. I have no family history of high bp..in fact my family have low bp. About 4 months ago i went to my GP where he routinley took my bp at 159/112, since then i ve been taking readings at home, work and at the doctors with results averaging at 143/109 (over 30 readings in total). I ve had blood and urine tests they came back fine. My Gp explained that he is worried about the bottom no., what are the effects of a high diastolic pressure? What can cause this? I m being refered to a cardiologist now but i have to wait 6 weeks for the 24hour monitoring. What can i expect from this test? And what other tests are normal procedure? I would really be grateful for any information and advice. Thank You

First off, always consult a physician before you do anything you hear about here. They may not agree with it, but will tell you if it sounds plausible or not. A 24 hour holter monitor is probably what you are going to wear. It is a monitor that will continuously take an measurement of the electrical activity of the heart. Additionally, not knowing your full history, you might have a condition known as renovascular hypertension. It is a condition that is easily treatable with medication, and is caused by a hormone in the body constricting the blood vessels to push more blood through the kidneys. Your cardiologist may also order a treadmill stress test to see if the electrical activity of the heart changes in the periods when you are exercising versus when you are resting. HBP over a long period of time weakens the heart muscle because the heart has to pump harder to do the same work.

serioiusly it can be nervousness, sometimes when I check my blood pressure I get really nervous and one time I had my blood pressure at 190/100 and then I went to a cardialogist and I was really calm that day and the blood pressure was 130/80 and said im fine so there is no way to really tell and also I had a heart monitor and everything came back to normal. So dont worry just see the cardiologist will tell you so its good to see the cardiologist and at your age you should be fine.

undergo the tests take medicines, you may get rid of this Hypertension in a year, if it is caused by some psychological reason .

try to reduce weight and control on salt intake...also check below home remedies
