I dont understand: if you have hypertension you are supposed to exercise...? -

...but by exercizing, you increase your heart beat rate and the pressure of the blood and you put your artheries and heart under pressure and stress. Which is exactly the opposite of what you should do. How does that work?

Exercise strengthens your cardiovascular system, which helps regulate your blood pressure. It helps lower your cholesterol and triglycerides, which is good for your blood vessels and heart health.

always consult your physician before doing any strenuous exercises. I would recommend yoga, swimming, brisk walking pilates, these are safe exercises , avoid high impact aerobics and lowering the head down exercises that increases the circulation of blood to the brain. For more info here take a look...

Low to moderate exercise only temporarily and slightly raises blood pressure. On the other hand, the cardiovascular conditioning and weight loss that result help lower blood pressure on a full-time basis. The trick is to avoid very strenuous exercise until your blood pressure lowers enough. Too much and you can raise your BP to a dangerous level while exercising. Go slow and easy, and be patient.
