If you get diagnosed with hypertension how long do you usually have to be on beta and calcium channel blockers -

Once you have been diagnosed with hypertension, if it is familial, you will have to stay on medication for the rest of your life. If it is based on your diet and fitness level, you will only have to stay on the medications until a decrease is seen naturally from a change in the diet or increasing your level of fitness.

Once you are diagnosed with hypertension, you will need to be on blood pressure medication as long as the condition persists. Your doctor may change your medication around as he or she feels is most therapeutic to you. Most people who have hypertension that start medication are on it most of their life. If you are overweight and loose weight, you may be able to come off of it. If you are very stressed out and experience stress relief, etc.

The rest of your life unless you can get your pressure down with diet and exercise.

let your doctor know you would like to get off the pills and plan to get it down naturally it took me two years to get rid of my bad habits smoking drinking and poor eating... now I am maximising my eating habits .. everyday i learn more.

Depends on wich other meds your taking probably for the rest of your life like me i have pulmunary hyprtension and i will be on these meds until i get a heart transplant or for the rest of my life.
