Is there any scientific evidence that points to a correlation between eating spicy foods and hypertension? -

Query is in reference to the thesis that a regular spicy diet would either lower, or elevate high blood pressure and eventually cause hypertension.

if this were true then all mexicans and itillans would have bloood pressure that would blow off their heads.

I ve never heard that. Though some cultures eating spicy foods may tend to eat fatter other foods like fried beans, whatever or in the case of India they eat very spicy but are lean people usually. They say spicy foods are good for arthritis and pain. I haven t heard anything else.

lots of spicey foods contains lots of sodium and sodium is directly related to bp thats why the doctors want you to change some eating habits when you are diagnoised with high bp one of the things they want you to do is to limit your salt intake hope this answer helped you
