even up to now, there is no knwon cause of hypertension, but there are a number of predisposing factors which could somehow be related of having it. 1.Age..older people are more at risk of having hypertension than the young ones, although there are people who in their young age have it as well. 2. overweight/obese. People who are on the heavier side have more chances of having hypertension. They have more accumulated fats along their blood vessels lkining, making it harder for blood to pass through it. 3. Race. not to be discriminating but according to a nursing book, people from the balck race are more at risk of having it. 4. heredity. If you have parents or even relatives who have hypertension, there s a possibility that you could have it too. Although there are also other reason why you have hypertension: 1. Hypertension can be due to a disease you have from the past or a condition you re having at present, like being pregnant, or haing hyperthyroidism, and diabetes mellitus. 2.also you can have hypertension by being anxious over the presence of a health care attendant, such as a doctor or nurse. It is commonly called White coat.
