How fast do meds work for hypertension? -

I have been diagnosed with high blood presssure at 140/90. If I take Benazepril 10mg, how fast (and by how MUCH) will my blood pressure likely be reduced??

First of all, I hope you were diagnosed after a few high BP readings with a few visits. 140/90 is barely above the normal range, and if it was the first time it was ever high, I d question the diagnosis. Secondly, if it s a valid diagnosis, Benazapril 10mg will probably take affect within 7-10 days and will drop you down to about 115ish/75ish. Good luck!
