HYPERTENTION IS ALSO KNOW AS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. IT IS SOMETIMES CAUSE BY DIABETES, KIDNEY PROBLEMS OR A HIGH SALT DIET. THE TREATMENT CAN BE LOW OR NO SALT DIET AND EXERCISE AND/OR MEDICATION. IT IS WISE TO CHECK YOUR OWN BP AT HOME DAILY AND TAKE A LOG TO THE DR.
You can search for information in is the site used by doctors with lots of works, investigations and other information about health.
Are you doing a report on hypertension or something? You should do your own (non-Yahoo) research! haha... i don t have time to get into it, but i just wanted to say that a high salt diet most likely does NOT cause hypertension (HTN). Your body is pretty efficient when it comes to absorbing/excreting sodium (salt) so unless there s an underlying problem your body can usually regulate. However, if there is an underlying problem (i.e. loss of kidney function) - then salt in the diet can bring extra water into your body, increase blood volume, and thus increase blood pressure. HTN is basically regulated by three elements: heart, blood vessels (i.e. resistance), and kidneys. Go do your homework!
