What will i recommend to people who are experiencing and will be experiencing hypertension? -

Hypertension or high blood pressure. What will I recommend to people who have this kind of disease?

Regular exercise (once cleared by a physician) Low salt, low fat diet Take measures to control stress levels If on medications for HTN, a banana or serving of cantaloupe to maintain potassium levels Minimal to moderate use of alcohol (not to excess) Quit smoking (if appropriate) Stay near ideal weight Don t skip medication doses Buy a B/P monitor and check B/P regularly See doctor every 6 months to a year for check-up

lose weight.

Nothing, -if you know so little about it that you need to ask this question

for those without hypertension YET... they can do primary preventive measures like, doing a good exercise (from a sport, is better), decrease intake of foods high in cholesterol, trans fat or saturated fats, increase intake of foods like salmon or any marine fish ( they increase good cholesterol which helps to lower bad cholesterol), from time to time check your blood pressure, quit smoking and drinking too much alcohol (studies show that a glass of red wine has significant effects), maintain ideal weight and lessen your intake of foods high in salt content. for those with Hypertension already, always be present on your scheduled appointments to your cardiologist, take your prescriptions in time and prevent skipping, refrain from taking any OTC meds without the go signal of your cardiologist, have an exercise regimen that is approved by your cardiologist, monitor your BP often, increase intake of fish oils (like from any marine fish, or from a supplement) and refrain from eating salty, high fat and cholesterol foods.

If it is mild, changes in diet and exercise can make the difference. If it is very high, the person needs to go on meds immediately. I suggest that you go after the root cause instead of just treating the symptom. If it is stress, then treat that problem. If it is a diet high in sodium, stop eating so many foods laced with salt. If it is weight or over-eating, then change those habits. High blood pressure could be a symptom of other problems, so you need to get to the cause.
