Can someone with hypertension take Viagra? -

You need to consult your doctor for the best info on this, but here s what I understand: Viagra, like many drugs called quot;nitratesquot;, is a vasodilator, meaning that it opens up blood vessels, which results in decreased blood pressure. So, if someone has high blood pressure, Viagra could potentially lower their blood pressure. HOWEVER!!!!!!! If someone is already on medications to lower blood pressure, Viagra could potentiate the effect and cause the blood pressure to drop dangerously low. For example, if someone is taking Viagra and also takes a nitroglycerin pill for chest pain, their blood pressure can drop to a lethal level. Probably not the kind of night you re looking for when you take Viagra. Again - talk to your doctor before starting any medication regimen.

No ,it would be very dangerous.

Unless your doctor says that it is alright, I really would not advise that you take such a risk. The evening might not end the way you want it to!

Viagra is sometimes used to treat hypertension. Therefore, someone who is already taking medication for hypertension could have unwanted side effects from taking Viagra. No matter what, check with your doctor!!

It would be best to ask a Dr about that. I believe on the commercial it says that quot;people that are not healthy enough to have sex, should not take Viagra, quot; but having high blood pressure doesn t necessarily mean you are totally unhealthy. GL with that!
