I have no idea where you got your information, however an elevated B/P over a gt;SUSTAINEDlt; period of time is referred to as gt;hypertensionlt; and over the course of a day an individual s B/P rises and falls transiently many times in response to various stimuli! Blood Pressure taken in a store is never accurate so for peace of mind please consult your Medical care giver! God Bless!
Like the last person stated, public machines are NOT reliable. They are misused and not calibrated. Also depending on how small or large you are different cuff sizes are required - a one-size fits all give false readings and can cause missed opportunities to pick up blood pressure issues. I have a friend who used a wrist blood pressure cuff and like you it said that my blood pressure was high. I had my pressure checked by 2 people manually the next day and my blood pressure was perfect. You are 16 - I bet there is a school nurse who would be happy to check your blood pressure and put your concerns to rest.
Those machines are notorious for overshooting blood pressure, between the distractions at the store, improper position, and not sitting completely still it s usually a lot higher than it actually is True hypertension is diagnosed by a physician as high blood pressure measured at different intervals with the patient relaxed in the correct position using the correct equipment. A drug store machine cannot diagnose hypertension (contant high blood pressure), it can show you have high blood pressure at a moment in time, which is perfectly healthy in most people
