Sodium and fluids are restricted in renal disease because they can lead to:? -

A. nausea, vomiting and anorexia B. hypertension, edema and heart failure C. fatigue, personality changes and confusion D. dehydration, weight loss and peptic ulcers

B. In renal disease, the kidneys aren t efficient enough to get rid of excess fluid. Taking in too much sodium and fluids will cause the blood volume to get too high (leading to hypertension), edema because the fluid has nowhere to go but into the body tissues, and heart failure because of the extra strain put on the heart from the excess blood volume.

B renel failure causes retention of sodium and fluids which on their will lead hypertension, edema heart failure, taking in more fluids and sodium tends to hasten and worsen these

fluid retention, edema in feet and legs and also cardiac problems
