Hypertension question.? -

Is it possible when someone who had hypertension can get rid of it by jog for 2.5km@1.5miles everyday in 2 month?

There are a lot of factors that affect your blood pressure. Your family history plays a large role as well as your diet (eg. sodium) and your weight. Exercise definitely helps blood pressure although two months seems like a short time. It does, however, depend on the severity of your hypertension. If it s very high, then two months might not be enough to to get it down to a reasonable level. BUT it depends on the individual as once again, several factors affect blood pressure. I recommend going to your family doctor and he can give you advice on what to do. If your hypertension is not controlled enough by lifestyle (diet/exercise,etc.) then your doctor can prescribe drugs that will assist in bringing your blood pressure down.

It is possible to get rid of hypertension. My father suffered with hypertension, high cholesterol, and all that good stuff. He was on meds for awhile, but he watched his diet- decreased sodium intake, ate healthier items. He also started running and exercising. Soon, he was taken off all meds and was healthy again. He is 48 (just in case you wanted to know). So, yes, it is possible to rid yourself of hypertension. I don t know about 2 months, though. Good luck with everything!

Hypertension is sometimes genetic and you can t get rid of it but others are able to get rid of it by changing their way of life. Jogging is great along with weight loss and eating lots of foods high in potassium. Check out the Dash Diet because it is recommended for people with high blood pressure.

depends on what is the cause of the hypertension. if it is a medical problem sometimes yes when the problem is found. all the other reasons most likely no.

Jogging may certainly help. There are many factors to take into account though, and without a detailed medical history, it would be harmful to provide you with medical advice in this forum. Ask your doctor. - Chad, RN
