Often I hear pulse/heartbeat in my head, at times rather loudly when im lying down? -

i have hypertension and on treatment for control. do any of you hear your pulse in your head?

It actually fairly common, more so when stress levels are high or after dramitc weight loss. It s caused by the your blood puming around your Eustachian tubes (the tubes that connects ears with throat) this creates a echo. It can in some cases last for months but is harmless.

Yes sometimes I do. I believe it is because one of your main arteries is in the right side of your neck and it is close to your ear so when your heart rate is up and pumping hard you can hear it. Especially when you lie down you will be able to hear it

yea i had it for a while....my doctor told me it was a type of migraine. And he gave me some meds for them and it helped get rid of it.

yeah i have that all the time, but i just readjust my head and it goes away... i hope its nothing bad cause i have the same problem...

There s always the worry that you re hearing the bruit of a constricted blood vessel from atherosclerosis, but rest assured that everybody at some point has this phenomenon.
