What is meant by hypertension? -

Signs and syptoms of hypertension

high blood pressure Headaches

Hypertension is more commonly known as quot;high blood pressure.quot; Usual symptoms are fatigue, headaches, and dizziness.

High Blood Pressure, generally something much over 140 Systolic pressure and/or 90 diastolic pressure in an adult male when at rest. Anythind over 120/80 is considered at risk though, as prolonged hypertension, even mild, is a major threat to health and life expcectancy Causes can be genetic, diet related, metabolism related or other lifestyle related. A host of genetic/metabolic diseases also result in hypertension. Poor sleep patterns are a major cause as well, and thus shift-workers can tend to acquire it disproportionately.. Lifestyle trigger factors include smoking, excessive alcohol comsumption, poor diet and lack of aerobic exercise (often with consequent obesity, though not always). Positive changes to these factors often lead to improvement. Most hypetension goes undiagnosed for a long period because, it is asymptomatic in most people in it s early stages, and is also related to the age of the person concerned.. THIS FACTOR IS THE REASON WHY ANNUAL/BI-ANNUAL CHECKS OF BLOOD PRESSURE ARE NEEDED FOR ANYONE OVER 40 OR WITH A TRIGGER FACTOR SUCH AS DIABETES MELLITUS. When symptoms occur they include the headaches and tiredness already mentioned, but can lead to secondary symptoms that cause pain: 1. Kidney damage due to resultant renal hypertension 2. Radial chest pain, indicating heart damage/stress 3. CVS s (strokes) 4. Blood clots 5. Adrenal malfunction due to resultant adrenal hypertension It is these symptoms that are often picked up first. Hope this helps!
