Whats a nursing diagnosis for hypertension? -

Knowledge deficit would pertain to a lot of patients which is an actual nursing diagnoses

If by quot;diagnosisquot; you mean a simplified explanation, then hypertension is the same thing as high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the pressure (or force) that your blood puts on the walls of arteries. The reason why high blood pressure is bad for you is because it makes the heart work harder to pump blood (and increases your risk of having a stroke or heart disease). Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) and is read with the systolic number OVER the diastolic number. For example, an average recommended blood pressure is 120/80. Your blood pressure is considered to be quot;highquot; when the systolic number is 140 or greater. The systolic number is the pressure of blood on the artery walls as the heart beats (contracts). The diastolic number is the pressure of the blood on the artery walls as the heart fills up with blood (relaxes).

more than likely ....high blood pressure....can cause or lead to high risk for injury, hemodynamic monitoring, I am at a hospital right now and I asked a nurse.
