Disucss the effects of hypertension on the cardiovascular system? -

Hypertension is caused by stiffening or spasm of the blood vessels or increased cardiac output, or a combination of the two. It can also be caused by the way the kidneys deal with salts, which cause excessive blood volume. Excessive pressure over a sustained period puts increased workload on the heart and other organs, eg renal system the raised pressure can also lead to failure of the vessels leading to CVA (stroke)

The pressure causes atherosclerosis . It damages the lining and hard fibrous scar tissue will form
