What is hypertension, and do I need to go to the doctor? -

I took a test at the store and it Said I have hypertension 1 I know it could be wrong butshould I check it out anyways?

If monitors in the grocery store amp;/or pharmacy are giving a high reading when it checked your blood pressure, it might not be true but it is worth checking it out. You can usually go to your local fire station and ask one of them to check your blood pressure a few times a week. If it s consistantly high -then it is time to see a physician. Your doctor is the only one who can diagnose you with hypertension.

The ones in stores are often not accurate. However, hypertension is blood pressure that is consistently higher than 140/80. Depending on family history and some other factors, this value may be higher or lower. Usually routine visits to hour health care provider can identify if this is a problem for you. BTW, hypertension really can show little symptoms, but can lead to serious complications.

it is high blood pressure a range above 120/80 mm/hg. and yes, you need to check this with your doctor. if its not treated then its very harmful to the body. it might cause stroke, or heart attack and in the long run damage kidneys too. so its good to get it treated and should always be kept under control. so should not waste any time and visit your doctor ASAP.

Hypertension is High Blood Pressure. It is not a disease,it is a symptom that can be related to several chronic diseases. I would have it checked out, just in case.
