Whats her diagnosis? -

78 yr old woman: hypertension, poor sleeping patterns, poor appetite, loss of interest in activities, poor recall, disoriented/confused, does poorlyon simple executive tasks, feels worse in morning...what s the diagnosis?

senile dementia, depression, hypertension...

Well without any history (knowing the order the symptoms presented and how long they have been present), whether the patient noticed the symptoms or those around her noticed symptoms, is obese, race, family history, has lost a loved one recently.... Could be heart failure, stroke, thyroid or a combination of them. All three include varying degrees of what you have described. Blood work, eeg, and ekg would be my first things based on what you did provide. If you are asking for a loved one, please see a doctor.

First of all, I would reccommend having her see her doctor for a full physical and check up. There are many things that can cause these symptoms. Hypertention is serious and should be treated immediately. It can effect many things in the body, and create many of the symptoms that you mention. If the heart isn t pumping enough oxygen to the brain, the brain isn t going to function as it should.

OLD AGE.

old age.

she s just old. most people her age are like that. hope i helped.
