Would a blood pressure of 141/82 and a pulse of 112 mean a hospital trip? (pic included)? -

got back from WalMart about an hour ago, and that s a picture of the reading on the blood pressure machine just outside th epharmacy. I went back just before we left, and it was about the same (the pulse was about 110). On halloween i went to the ER with stage 2 hypertension and a pulse of 120+. Since i ve been home, it s been around 80-84, and now that i m at home, it was 102, now it s back up to 112. I m supposed to be on Z-pack, but i haven t gotten it yet since i lost the perscription card, and i can t remember my doctor s name from when I went to the ER. ===Should I ask my mom to take me to the ER later 2nite? Or should I just wait and see if my pulse goes down? My uncle has a blood pressure thing, but i m not sure if it s very accurate...===

Hi, Is there any history of diabetes in your family? Extremely high blood sugars can cause problems as well. You don t have to have parents or grandparents with diabetes to get it, just eat a lot of acidic foods and drink soft drinks, and that can overload your system with acids, and this can lead to diabetes. Even when your bring in a prescription note to a pharmacy in the US, they will normally contact the doctor s office to double check the prescription, especially if it is a narcotic (that one is not). You can have the pharmacy call the ER and confirm you where there and what needs to be given, what dosage. I guess you mom is not to worried? How is your eating habits? I guess if you are worried about high blood pressure, you should not bury that worry in ice cream or potato chips that will increase the pressure. High heart rates for kids is sort of normal. I know a 8 year old that is over 120 all the time, resting, and can reach 160 while in the hospital, and the doctors don t do a thing about it. For her, it is normal. I knew a track star, who played on the football team in high school, and his resting heart rate was the lowest in the class, 50. He must have a big heart, with lots of volume. You can do things to your diet to bring on diabetes, or prevent diabetes. You can also do things to prevent heart disease, might as well start tonight. Eat well, skip soft drinks, and don t have meat with each meal. Eat some Oatmeal for breakfast. Adding 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon will lower it s absorbsion rate into the bloodstream, something very good for diabetics. It will offer calories all day long, helping you avoid snacks mid-day. If you can t eat oatmeal, remember that Cherrios is good for bringing down your cholesterol. Yes it really works like in the commercials. Cinnamon has shown 20% lower blood sugar levels in test subjects in a test down on glycemic index, so enjoy cinnamon, it is very good for you.

Dont get so worried about a once-off store test...A doctor needs to get 3 readings in a row of a high BP before he will diagnose you...there are alot of reasons why the walmart reading could be a little high. Z-pack is an anti-biotic right?...that probably wont have any bearing on your BP. I think you should see your doctor about your BP issues and get an accurate reading taken. Your pulse is a little high but that changes quickly and anxiety can cause it to leap up...Iwouldn tt be that worried about it yet. Chill out dear...relax and stop worrying or you will keep having these symptoms and get really anxious about it all.

Relax you re fine. You are not going to have a stroke if that s what you re worried about. You can go back to the ER, they will have a record of the treating doctor and diagnosis. Tell them about your prescription card. Or tell the pharmacy you get the scirpt filled at. They can look up any prescription benefits you have. Or you ll just have to wait until the offices open up in the morning to get a new card. In either case get a new prescription and while you re there ask them to check your BP. I m surprised the doctor didn t put you in some mild B/P medicine. Even a mild diuretic might help you. God bless you and keep you healthy.
