They don t do anything at all about us getting dizzy until we crash land in the middle of an intersection! Some of the meds they give us, they say cause dizziness. Then when we complain about being dizzy like they say we should, we get ignored. If this is an effect of your hypertension meds, you can do one of two things. LIVE with it!! or demand a different med. Now the second thought will get you frowned at by the doctor as there are not many hypertension meds that do not cause dizziness. If this is an ARB or an ACE and it isn t controlling your hypertension and you have been taking it for some time, ask for a different med. I am now taking a Calcium Channel Blocker, but it makes me even dizzier than the ACE or the ARB did. But I got high K number so cannot take those ever again!! That was why the docs changed it for me. It does do a very good job of controlling the blood pressure. But the Nurse at the Cardio wants to add more meds to it even if it is doing what it should?????
If you get dizzy just as you get up, it could be you re getting up too fast. To be sure, take your blood pressure in am and pm and keep a log. If high, see another doctor.
