Intercrainal Hypertension, anybody? -

I was diagnosed in 2001. So, can I assume that since I have not went blind yet, that I am not going to? I have headaches and they are awful. Also, if I do go blind, will I still have the headaches? I have no insurance, so continuing my treatment is out of the question. I need spinal taps, and if I went to ER with my bad headache, I don t think that they will do a spinal tap to relieve the pressure, because it is not a life or death problem. I thank you for all the infomation that you can give me.

Whether you will go blind or not isn t the biggest issue here. The issue here is whether your intracranial pressure is under control. Are you taking antihypertensive medications at all? And what did the doctor who diagnosed you say about your treatment? The fact that you re still suffering from bad headache is a good enough indication that the pressure isn t under control yet. If you visit the ER with your headache, you should let the medical staff there know about your intracranial hypertension, and they ll do what is best for you. In any case, try and make contact with your local social work service to arrange for some financial help so you can continue your treatment. Remember that intracranial hypertension can lead to more serious consequences than merely going blind. You re putting your brain s blood vessels in constant strain, and sooner or later, they ll become weaken, and you can suffer a stroke, which might be fatal. Please take care of your health. We all only live once. Good luck.

The info above is great: Remember that if you are at all overwheight - losing weight is often the number one most helpful intervention. Also the oral drug Diammox can be quite effective and cheap although it can have some annoying side effects

you must be that lard assss that I passed up at the bus stop, its to bad because your opinion doesnt account for $$$it.

Please see the webpages for more details on Intracranial hypertension.
