Go to your local pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist. If you are on medication for the hypertension, make sure you have the name, strength and dosage you are taking. The pharmacist will be able to tell you IF there are any safe over the counter meds you could use. Chances are however, that since most of the diet pills contain caffeine, s/he will advise you to stay away from that type pill. Talking with them might help you discover a safer, better alternative, one which does not risk you having a stroke or heart attack.
