I am 8 weeks postpartum and still having extreme overall weakness.? -

I had my baby 8 weeks ago and developed post partum complications. i had pnemonia, hypertension and about a week later acute renal failure. i delivered by c-section. finally the pnemonia has resolved, my blood pressure is back to normal and my kidneys seem to be ok. i cant under stand why i feel so extremely weak still. and it s worse once i wake up out of bed or stand up from sitting down. i took muliple blood test and chest x-rays and everthing seems to come back ok. has this happened to anyone. please shed some light on the situation. i am so scared that i will never feel back to normal.

You ve been through a lot in your last 8 weeks PLUS tending to a newborn! It s no wonder you re exhausted. From all that you ve been through what you re describing is normal considering all of the complications. The feeling weak when you re getting up out of bed or from standing - that is probably orthostatic hypotension. Basically your blood pressure drops when you change positions - usually from laying to sitting and sitting to standing. Make sure you re taking in PLENTY of fluids. Being dehydrated can make this worse. Continue to take a multivitamin to keep your minerals (especially iron) up. Take in at least 1000mg of vitamin C a day and get some zinc in as well. Good luck with the new baby!

I think you are just exhausted. a new baby is hard on you even if you dont have complications. Sounds like you have really had a hard time. Please just rest a while longer and keep asking for help. (I hope that you have some one to help you.) take your vitamins and get pleanty to eat.

Are you anemic? Maybe you have low iron. All you have to do is take a pill and get your count back up
