Do U.S. doctors treat obesity? -

If a doctor sees that a patient was hypertensive, he would give that patient a perscription for hypertension. If a doctor sees a patient that is overweight obese, is the dr allowed to treat it by giving advice?

Of course it is a medical condition that come under a Dr. jurisdiction. But in my experience most don t waste much time with conditions they can t treat with a pill or surgery.

Yes, but depending on your insurance he may or may not be able to give you something for it. Unfortunately advice doesn t always work.

The liberals might try to sue him for discriminative insulting. I believe I heard of a case like that a few years ago. Nevertheless, if he can prescribe another dumb pill like they do all day for the names of conditions, he ll probably do it.

If you ask your doctor, he may prescribe something or just give you advice and dieting tips. If you are extremely overweight, you should go to a doctor that specializes in this, they can give you much better advice.
