ENDOCRINOLOGISTS? High MCH, low lymphocytes, high DHEA sulfate...? -

The doctors were testing me for Cushing s (again) but my cortisol levels were okay this time. Instead, they found high MCH, low lymphocytes, and high DHEA sulfate. symptoms include poor wound healing, diarrhea, fatigue, weight gain, and hypertension in a 21 year old vegan female. My doctors are stumped--- any ideas?

Corisol levels change during the day and during the night. in a normal circumstance a corisol level collected at 8 pm will be 50% lower than one collected at 8 am. So, check the time of collection. For the high MCH, that means the average concetration of hemoglobin in each Red blood cell (RBC). In some anemias, decrease or increase in cell size (MCV) is associated with a proportional decrease or increase in the amount of hemoglobin within the cell (MHC). Also, in certain conditions, these indices of RBCs may be falsely elevated. For the low lymphocytes, there may be an impaired ability to mount an immune response, leading in immunodeficiency. Corticosteroid therapy causes a sharp drop in circulating lymphocytes within 4 hours, other conditions like bacterial or viral can cause low lymphocyte levels. For the DHEA, I don t know much about, but check for testosterone levels or diabetes. Look in the internet @ www.labtestsonline.org This website tells you that the test are for and abnormallities. Hope this helps!!! Good Luck.
