Need Homework Help!!? -

Health questions trying to study for my final... If someones parent has hypertension, does that person have a higher risk of developing hypertension? If a tumor is found, can a physician do a biopsy to determine whether its benign or malignant? And what socital changed amp; rights have disabled persons been working toward? Please help if you can I m studying for my health final!!! Thank you!!

I m a high school/college health teacher, so first I have to chastise you for soliciting help for your finals--just kidding. OK, here goes: 1. Hypertension, in part, is hereditarily linked. That DOES NOT mean that you will not become hypertensive if your parent(s) aren t. Diet, exercise, and other lifestyle choices (smoking) will also affect your risk. It also DOES NOT mean that if your parent(s) are hypertensive that you are doomed to the same fate. Higher risk? Yes, but again, your lifestyle choices are very important. 2. That is how tumors are determined to be either benign or malignant-through a biopsy. So, yes, a physician can and will biopsy. 3. The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) is the piece of legislation that handicapped people have worked toward. What this insures is that all public places are accessible to disabled people (schools, malls, parking, etc). It also covers some employment issues (like fair hiring practices, etc) for disabled people. Hope all this helps and good luck on your final!!

all of those are yes at least i think im not a health teacher just an all state runner and to my knowledge sadly enough i think they are yes but try ask.com and typing in the questions for guarenteed answers

Hypertension is in part hereditary.....Tumors are always biopsied to see if it is cancerous or not....sometimes it may be removed first, depending on the size or location.....

For the precise answer to your questions and in order to do good on your final I would look at different websites such as WEBMD and google in order to figure it out. They have all the answers! GOOD LUCK on your final Oh and BTW don t stress yourself out just remember to breathe!

It is likely that both genetic (inherited) and environmental factors, such as your diet, play a role. The ways that all of the contributing factors interact to elevate blood pressure are not necessarily the same for each person. In addition, most of the genetic causes of hypertension are still a matter of research.
