What is the bad effect of Mirtaz 15( Mirtazapine)? -

My Psychiatrist prescribes Mirtaz 15( Mirtazapine) for my mother for Depression.1 tab. a day.She is 72 years old, having hypertension(controlled after taking medicine) and non Diabetic. Is there any adverse effect of the medicine?

When I took Mirtazapine, 60 mg, the good effect it had was to help me fall asleep at night. If your mom is having problems sleeping, this could be a quot;Goodquot; effect. I didn t notice any bad effects Mirtazapine had because I went to sleep after I took it. I hope your mom will be feeling better. Best Wishes.

Different effects can be: anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania, mania, worsening of depression, and suicidal ideation, especially early during antidepressant treatment and when the dose is adjusted up or down. There should be times that you makes sure you observe carefully for these effects. hope I helped!
