What is the danger of low pulse (52) with high BP 170/95? -

60 year old male. headache. On meds for hypertension, atrial fib and type 2 diabetes. Bp has been controlled by meds but sudden onset of increased BP and decrease in pulse rate has developed the last few days. Very tired.Had a spell of nausea and vomitting at onset. Normal pulse is usually 64 due to taking Lanoxin for heart problem.

It means his heart it beating really fast but not pumping the blood out to the body like it should be, which is probably the cause of the headache (lack of o2 to the brain) any pulse below 60 should be cause to notify the md especially since he is alreay on bp meds. just remebered these are some of the signs of shock which bascially means he s losing blood somewhere somehow... call a doc.

If your pulse slows, by definition your heart is beating slower. Best answer is wrong. It could be any number of things, dehydration for example. Talk to your doctor. Report Abuse

top number of bp is a little elevated and also i was told that by my doctor that if my pulse rate dropped below 50 to let him know immediately.. i would say see you doctor ASAP

PLEASE, go get taken care of. This is no time to be afraid of the doctor. You can be afraid, and be dead tomorrow, or be a big boy and go to the doctor. Tonight. Now. Do not wait. At least you have a warning. Take care of yourself. Why are you waiting? ?????
