Would internal bleeding of any sort lend itself to low or quot;normalquot; blood-pressure? -

If one has quot;normalquot; blood-pressure, but had a history of high blood-pressure (and virtually every risk factor associated with hypertension), is it possible that an ulcer, or worse, an aneurysm, could be festering? THX. -g.

High Blood Pressure tends to promote internal bleeding and aneurysms. Internal bleeding directly leads to low blood pressure, as soon as these happens, internal body mechanisms start with normalization process (carotid body and so on) by vasoconstriction. In an individual with initial high blood pressure; the normalization brings back the high blood pressure.

Some answers already there are no good! Yes, serious internal bleeding can cause low blood pressure. A low blood pressure, within acceptable limits, is healthy! It should go up after exercise though. You should not think about this too much until you have better knowledge of physiology. Ask a nurse or med tech if you do not ask a doctor. If you had high BP and now it is normal, that is good!!! If you are on antihypertensive med, it is working.

although BP, medical history and lifestyle factors are a big part... you also need to look at cholestrol. Anyeurysm are cause by a vessel bursting due to a blockage over time (plaque build up....weakend vessel...BOOM!) If you are at risk for hypertension and your lifestlye increases that risk, I suggested bi-yearly check-ups and screening.... and patient education to help reduce the risk of a future cut short.

internal bleeding usually causes accute hypotension, if you have chronic ulcer it usually causes anaenmia as opposed to hypotension

I guess it would cause higher blood pressure since your heart needs to work faster due to the loss of blood in your body.

yes, it will lower greatly if internal bleeding..it will bottom out..usually drop to 70 or 80 over 40 ---50 and very dangerous, that is stroke stage....can lead to lite strokes and if the bleeding continues, will cause memory loss due to lite strokes, can also cause loss of mobility.. and death.
